Hi All

Very cool new entries in the Catalog
First of is this new Groove Release by
Free System Projekt - Procyon.
Before only availbale as a down load we have it now released as a CD.
Track 1 and 2 recorded live at Hampshire Jam 7, 15 November 2008.
Track 3 previously unreleased, recorded live at the 3 in 1 Theatre,
Huizen 30 October 1999.  Ruud and Marcel are on fire during theses 2
live sets and for many their music is at its best when played live!!

And although it will be released on the 16th of September we have
put the new John Kerr - “Prelude to a Requiem”
" I felt it was time to try something different which resulted in a
sort of “putting the cart before the horse” project which I call
“Prelude to a Requiem”. I created my own inspiration for the music by
designing the graphics for the production long before I started
composing the music. Maybe for most people a rather strange way of
doing things but then again, I have never been what most people would
call ‘normal’.

With “Prelude to a Requiem” I have realized a dream. My love of the
piano, the human voice and classical choirs seem to have reached a new
level thanks to my discovery of virtual (software) instruments and to
quote someone’s reaction after listening to an early proof-mix: “It
has added a brand new dimension to John’s musical style and for those
who love his previous works... ”Prelude to a Requiem” will truly amaze
them“. Creating this album was certainly extremely challenging but a
great deal of fun!  John Kerr "

And also new after years of waiting is Klangwelt - Incident .
listen to it in http://www.dreamscaperadio.nl
Is this Vangelis, Jarre or Yello? No. Is this a Electronic Crossover?
Somehow. Is this Klangwelt? Definitely!
To present a CD by a musician i admire is an  unusual fascination,
a special matter. So „The Incident“ is something special, because on his
4th album Gerald Arend aka Klangwelt manages to make a blend of
extraordinary elements and selected sounds to produce an unusual and
captivating opus.

Soft and warm harmonies meet technical sounds, dreamy melodies meet
bizarre tone patterns. Accentuated Beats, Sequences, sometimes
minimalistic at another time powerful, Cosmic Spheres and Speech
Quotes are put together to exciting compositions, that are accompanied
by bizarre and sometimes eccentric sound creations and strange
vocal-samples. The atmospherically-flowing tracks seem to play with
feelings of wellness and threat which sometimes arouse tension and
power, at another time let you calm down again. Dreamy atmospheres are
interwoven by decent discords and strange parts are enriched by
harmonic elements, traditional sounds are combined with innovative
sound experiments. A fantastic, excellent produced sound travel, full
of charming contrasts. Recommended (not only) to all Klangwelt-fans.

And from the cosmic nights we brought back a few really nice CDs.
Nothing but Noise - Existence Oscillation (Possible) Future
Listen to it http://www.dreamscaperadio.nl
Is the 3rd release in this series, dark  Berlin School that sounds fantastic.
The deep sounds and weird sequencing is among the best I have heard this year.
Not the regular 4x4 Berlin School but definitely in that style.
Just with a little bit more pepper and salt!!

Rhea - 108 minutes.
Listen to it http://www.dreamscaperadio.nl
Released on Cosmic Nights this tells the story of the very first man
in space Youri Gagarin. A cosmic tribute to this hero of Spaceflight!
Mark has created a deep emotional musical landscape that is
cosmic, with moving sequences and soundscapes!! Highly recommended!!

Pieter Vermeyen - Hygge
Listen to it http://www.dreamscaperadio.nl
For me a new name but this music is stunningly beautiful.
Main instrument is the Piano and it has the feel of Nils Frahm his music.
Not for the pure Berlin School fans but it has its moments of it!
Listen to it in Dreamscape Radio!!

Next week is E-Scape 2018
So no E-News on sunday, I think it will be Monday.

gr-247 Skoulaman - Next Step in Evolution

The sigh saddening from a very Vangelis synth awakens a dreamlike
introduction by drifting lazily between the twinkling prisms and
chords which hesitate between a melodic avenue or a cosmic wandering.
The delicacy in the deposit of the keyboard keys is faithful to the
signature of the one who was a beautiful revelation in 2014 with
Dreaming of the Future Reflecting the Past. The approach is closer to
stars with this sensation of weightlessness which moderates this bed
of noisy stuffs which nibble at our ears, whereas the sequencer weaves
a rhythmic pattern which goes and comes, playing cat and mouse with
our hearing, with an elastic effect in its upward influence. The tone
is shown to "Colored Glass" because “Next Step in Evolution” leans on
these movements of slow sequencing pattern, sometimes they turn more
fluid, which serve the cause to these structures of ambiences and of
harmonies built on the basis of improvisations. Another line of s e
quence congeals its more crystal clear balls which swirl in a
motionless envelope, giving this freedom to Rik van Kroonenburg's
guitar to throw of riffs and solos, in simultaneous with the synth,
which travel through the seraphic mists and other effects of a synth
which anchor the music of Hans Van Kroonenburg, aka Skoulaman, in a
galaxy not too much far from that of Gert Emmens. With its sequences a
little bit foggy, originator of seraphic rhythms, the music of
Skoulaman has really took off with its last album, Andros Awakenings.
“Next Step in Evolution” follows this tangent with a scenic
organization which flirts with this approach of live on a base of
improvisation which condemns not at all his vision of sound poetry of
which the wide specter of brilliance inhales the soft musing of
Vangelis. Like in this introduction of "Foreign Woods" where the
keyboard lays down a lunar lullaby strummed with this sensation of
small knocks from a metallic hammer on a glass xylophone. The debit
varies as the jets of mists. The rhythm which comes from the point of
5 minutes of the of this cosmic musing reminds that of Software, the
orchestrations of mist too, in the years 85-88. The sequences swirl as
carousels illuminated with hundred lights in a structure which wanders
between these phosphorescent lines and these lines of celestial voices
which accentuate the depth of the fog effects. "EC2" follows with
samplings of alive nature where the chants of birds are cooing on the
bright reflections of a water very alive in its bed of rockery.
Tearful synth layers are falling and they spread reverberating shadow,
sculpting a fascinating funeral ode. It's mostly here that we feel
this live vibe of this album. Rarely, an artist will have been so
close to my ears! The residues of this elegy is floating and forms
some fuzzy sound hoops which get in a jerky trance.
This is how a first phase of rhythm gets born in "EC2" Always very
soft and poetic, Hans Van Kroonenburg lays here som e melodious chords
of which the tinkling roam through a sneaky shadow which took the
place of those hoops and restructures the rhythm under the aegis of a
synth and of its apocalyptic lines. Fat and juicy sequences get in,
amplifying the rhythmic genesis which becomes like the steps of a big
clumsy giant running to the left and to the right of our ears. More
bright arpeggios add the harmonious touch to this track which in the
end crumbles very well its 12 minutes. This structure of sequences
rolls the rhythm a little slower in "Rumble" of which the illusion
that it wins in velocity is simply superb. The rumbling results from
the multi-lines of synths the of which violence are dropping layers of
voices as much celestial as the orchestrations without forgetting
those vampiric harmonious licks and melodious solos. This is a great
track made on the model of Berlin School! The introduction is short
for "Ocean and Air Guitar". After the samplings of waves dying on
shores, this movement o f sequences which rises and comes down without
really conviction turns to rock this hypnotic rhythm which makes the
link between the structures of “Next Step in Evolution”. An ideal
structure to also put down an atmosphere of the most ethereal, giving
a chance to Rik van Kroonenburg to spread his solos, sometimes furious
and sometimes anesthetic, of which the answers of his father are
translated by more aerial soloes and banks of mist where sing one
thousand stars. Once again, this is very nice! Taking advantage of its
18 minutes to structure well its opening and the morphology of its
rhythmic evolutionary structure, "Colored Glass Alternate" is an
alternate vision of the first title without the presence of
Skoulaman's son on guitar. The synth solos are replacing the laments
of the six-strings and thin lines of additional sequences, as well as
very nice percussive effects, add a charming depth to a more lively, a
more fluid structure of this version which enchants me much more than
" Colored Glass".
Once again, I spent some very good time with the music of Skoulaman.
Easy to tame and without a detour towards a form of complexity, the
music of “Next Step in Evolution” is beautiful and finds its way
easily between our ears and to the bottom of our eardrums. We dream
easily on it and we get surprised to appreciate its lightness so much
the musical and harmonious aspect is important in the sound ship of
Skoulaman. We cannot like it, as much as we cannot shout to genius! It
flows and coos between the ears, like a nice evening of sonic poetry.

 69313 Node - NODE lIVE

The comeback of Node in 2014 was undoubtedly one of the biggest
happening in the story of EM these last years. Only the death of Edgar
Froese aroused as many reactions. Why to make this link? Because it's
further to a concert of Tangerine Dream in 1975 that the sting for
this kind of art began to germinate in the mind of Mark Ellis, alias
Flood. And a concert of this English quartet is the equivalent of
these legendary concerts of Franke, Froese and Baumann in the 70's, in
the sense that the level of improvisation is rather high. This
concert, one of the very rare of the English band, was presented at
the prestigious London's Royal College of Music and proposes more than
one hour of totally new music where the sound fragrances of Ricochet,
Phaedra, Stratosfear as well as the last album of Node are floating
through the heavier England School style of Node. Take note that the 5
tracks of this concert are divided and mixed as individual title a n d
the applauses were removed, giving the illusion that “Node Live” is a
studio album.
Thus, it's through some recollections of the mythical album Encore,
the Cherokee Lane track, that the ambiences of "Shinkansen North" are
opening. We can say also that it's almost similar to the opening of
"Shinkansen East". A synth layer, of which we bind easily its tone to
that of a train floating on its rails of marshmallow, gathers fellow
lines to weave an opaque wall of atmospheres from which the graceful
movement remind those of a waltz in heavens. Celeste and sibylline,
the departure of the Shinkansen Japanese train for the North sets in
motion near the 4 minutes' point. The movement of the sequencer is
heavy and fluid while the veils of synths make very TD of the 76-77
years. One swims in the fury of "Shinkansen West" but with beautiful
additions to its breakneck pace. Huge jingles decorate the race while
the movement of the rhythm widens its zigzagging tentacles in a
hallucinating soun d decor where every second is filled to the full.
Vintage electronic effects become allied to those more contemporary
while the rhythmic bend rolls at top speed, being whipped by wonderful
percussive effects and making even more pleasant this title which
originated from Node 2. The universe of "Shinkansen North" remains
chthonian with effects of synths and layers with a hint of voices
which sound as hooting of specters. Always in movement, the rhythm
stays in awaiting for the convulsive movement of the sequencer and the
percussions which restructure it for a heavy approach of a Techno for
one-legged people on amphetamines. As for them, the synths take the
shape of this evolutionary structure of the sequencers and of the
rhythmic pounding percussions by adapting their solos and their
ambience's veils to the accelerations and the decelerations of a
rhythmic structure which is very far from the minimalist approaches
that we usually associate to EM. My ears buzzing and the walls resoun
d ing, "Perpertuum Mobile 1" comes along with its mass of
ambiospherical and ambiosonic elements. The movement of the sequencer
structures an oval ascent while the synths free some anesthetic
perfumes. Decorated with very good sound effects, one of the big
strengths of this album, the structure evolves slowly through the
chants of the synths. Another line of sequence gets in. Its keys get
grafted to its contiguous movement. The adding of castanets and of
percussive effects create an imperfect rhythmic double shadow which
beats with more vigor, while being sober, but very effective in the
background, the synths continue to spread a chthonian veil. "Arrival"
is a title of atmospheres unique to Node's repertoire. Muted
knockings, one would say rustles of metallic doors, chants of
extraterrestrial locusts, hoarse breaths in an effect of didgeridoo
and voices mumbled by a synth; these ambiences put down a luciferian
aura where sparkles a rosary of arpeggios glimmering in the electronic
ef f ects of the Exit years. Bass pulsations give a perception of
Groove to this structure which limps with a hypnotic effect, while
percussive effects, another element of indisputable charm in this
“Node Live”, stimulate a structure which stays in the field of the
floating rhythms as such which flirts between a classical Node and the
surrounding areas of Arc's aerial melodies.
"Shinkansen South" concludes the course of the Japanese train with an
introduction of electronic ambiences of the vintage years. The rhythm
which develops is built on sequences which flicker in the trail of a
good line of bass and percussive delights. It goes up and comes down
in oval loops with fragrances of the golden age of EM. Synths are
unchained as well as the sequences and percussions which never stop to
amaze our sense of hearing. They are in symbiosis with the phases of
rhythm and sculpt strange aerial airs as well as ectoplasmic
harmonies, such as a concerto for specters which are drag down from
the oblivion to hell. One can even hear the effect of a guitar and its
loops which echo in a tumult more and more controlled by Node. After
this peculiar rock, "Shinkansen South" lands in a long ambiospherical
finale where the Mellotron reigns in absolute master within its
mythical mist. Some great Node that is! "Perpetuum Mobile 2" also
arises from a broth of ambience elements before following the curve of
a floating rhythm sits on a meshing of pulsations and motionless
sequences. Synths are totally intrusive with layers and jets of
chthonian sounds while multiplying many effects which divert our ears
of a rhythmic formation which offers itself like in a state of
collective hypnosis where dozens of torsos rock themselves in the
unconsciousness. A little like a big feline following its prey being
dying, the rhythm takes the various angles of the moods without ever
really exploding. The beast won't eat after all, containing its fury
in an atmosphere which reaches the summit of our waits .
It would seem that there have been never so many analog synths and
sequencers on the same stage during this concert, and we can hear, we
can feel it. I have already written it in my review about Node 2,
never I would have thought that so many sounds, tones, elements of
ambiences and rhythms could get out of these machines and this in such
a cohesion. For me, that is beyond belief! Without weaknesses and
without a single second of lost, “Node Live” is the quintessence, the
summit of the creativity in the universe of the contemporary EM. A
pure masterpiece and a delight for my ears! I am convinced that it
should be the same thing for the very great majority of aficionados of
the Berlin School style, heavy and livened up by a brute force!
Available on May 18th in a limit of 2000 manufactured CD by DiN Record.
