Hi All

E-Scape 2018 is now also over!!
What a weekend we had!! So relaxed, so much fun!
And such great music!

Code Indigo (UK) Solid with an improvised track by Robbert Fox and Andy (Guitar)
that brought goos bumps all over my body! I want that VT fast David!!

VoLt (UK) Also very cool with great video back drops!!
These guys know how to entertain an audience!! I loved it.
That last track with Harold was also very cool! You should ask him more often!!

FD Project (GER) Well Franky  is always great to listen to.
He had a fantastic set of only 45 minutes which was enjoyed by all I think!

Gazz Collins (UK) only got about 10 minutes of his set as the food was served
and we had to eat at some point in the afternoon/evening.
From the reactions in the crowed all loved it.

Concept Devices (UK) will play in the Foyer.
At times very good, especially with the cool timy set up he had.
Something for the upper room of E-Live or E-Day I think!

BIG thanks to David and Elaine for this edition which in my
idea was one of the best!! We really loved playing and I think our set
was solid and very rocky!! It is a privilege to play with musicians
like Frank, Harold and Stephan.
The plans for a first album with the 4 of us in this set up is in the planning!!
A restart or rebirth of Morpheusz !!

All who helped us (Again Jef!! and Monique) Trevor (light sound)
Carys (food and thought) Mick Garlick for the fun!!
John Dyson, Steve Smith and Michael Shipway for being such cool guys!!
And all the people/visitors who came and joined in!! A BIG THANKS!!
Hope to be back one day!!

So now a period of rest is here, no concerts for me as such are planned now.
So time to concentrate on Groove and new releases here.
This week will see a folood of new entries so keep checking that first page
from time to time.

Thanks for your time.

37860 Cosmic Ground - Cosmic Ground 3

If EM of the vintage Berlin School style molded in the warmth of the
analog is exercising on you an inexplicable attraction, the music of
Cosmic Ground is a must! What! You still don't know Cosmic Ground?
Unforgivable! And here is why... But before, attach your ears because
they are going to run away!
After the dissipation of a veil of chthonian voices, a line of bass
sequences makes beat 2 measures which throne on a filet of more
discreet sequences and of which the movement becomes that of a train
which wants to roll at a brisk pace through the clouds of dark voices
which he meets. What strikes immediately the sense of hearing is the
sound of the sequences. Even at a brisk pace and in their clothes of
one-legged monks, they wind with a so different, a so warm tone, as
their jingles get entangle like a thin line of rubber balls which jump
up as a starving play of percussions. Fiery, the first 6 minutes of
"Ground Control" offer a simply i nfernal structure of rhythm which
leaves no chance to a few steps of dance to follow the fury of
hundreds of sequences which jump, roll and tumble down through those
many clouds of mists. If the movement gets quieter, it remains all the
same rather lively with this meshing of sequences and percussions
which sets in fire the 2nd part with sequences which overflow now by
the lobes of our ears. Without nuances, set apart for the tones, and
frankly, "Ground Control" presents a powerful pouring of sequences
which wears out just a bit after having clocking the 12 minutes point,
entailing the title towards one finale which refuses to let leave its
hyper convulsive structure of rhythm. The dense ambiospherical effects
will finally have reason of the crazy rhythm about of "Ground Control"
near the 15th minute. This is a very sharp opening of Dirk Jan Müller!
And if the very lively and abrupt movement of sequences have seduced
you, wait to hear the one in "Crumbling Darkness". But it will no t be
before a good 6 minutes of an introduction densely ambiospherical
where intersidereal gongs crumble their rumblings in a sound paradise
tinted of wet voices and afterward in the violence of the winds which
sing with their particles of sandy dusts. "Crumbling Darkness" gets
away of this cocoon of atmospheres in order to offer a stunning
movement of rhythm well sat on the spasmodic jolts of many sequences.
Riffs and synth chords, which sound like those of the Green Desert
years, wrap this structure of rhythm of which the main attraction is a
series of dislocated and out of tune jumps which spring from a
skeleton of a big snake which gets back its bones after each spasm.
Imagine the image; it's a movement of rhythm without stops which
quietly crumbles its last knockings in a thick wall of mists and
luciferian voices. The combination of atmospheres and rhythms is
perfect for the fans of the genre. You want more?
After noises, rumblings and cosmic winds, "Keep us in Space" gets r id
of its short passage of ambiences to offer a structure of rhythm as
edgy as the one in "Ground Control". If the movement is less fluid, it
remains just as much violent with a line of bass sequences which
undulates under the oscillatory snips of scissors movement of the main
rhythm. Still here the structure of rhythm, as well as the
percussions, brings us back to the Green Desert era. It's a furious
rhythm which will run wild beneath a flight of sequences and
electronic percussions for a big 16 minutes. The analog Modular
overheats! After this fiesta of sequences and wild rhythms,
"Monochrome Ritual" calms down the moods with a beautiful ambient
rhythm, like those which have fed the beautiful analog years, with a
Dirk Jan Müller in great shape who abandons a little bit the Modular
in order to draw beautiful effects and elements of charms and
atmospheres which were in the heart of the golden years of the
psychedelic cosmic rock. The fans of Phaedra are going to ask for more
of it ! And that's why it's essential to discover the universe of
Cosmic Ground!
“Cosmic Ground 3” is in the lineage of the 2 first ones, but with a
clearly more incisive approach at the level of sequences and, by
ricochet, the structures of rhythm. I'm telling you straightaway, a
repetitive listening risks to make you deaf, so much the power of the
sequences attacks our indefatigable hunger for the analog rhythms of
the 70's. Is it too much? Would need to ask your neighbors. I would
say not at all, but I like that! The slow introduction of "Crumbling
Darkness" moderates a little the violence of the rhythmic acts. And
when we reach "Monochrome Ritual", we are like these crazy dogs who
need to rest after having hunt 2 trains which rolled in parallel. It's
a wonderful album for the fans of sequences and of hard and pure
electronic rhythms, although the moments of atmospheres are not anemic.

45694 Nothing but Noise - Existence Oscillation (Possible) Future

I got to say that the name can intimidate the most adventurous ears!
Nothing But Noise! This musical project gathers 2 companions from
Front 242, a band of Belgian industrial music which knew its moments
of glory in the course of the New Wave movement in the 80's and the
90's and which stopped its activities at the dawn of 2000's. Daniel
Bressanutti and Dirk Bergen, who had left the ship shortly after the
making of the first album Geography in 1982, formed NBN in 2012 with a
first album which surprises the music milieu with a form of ambient
music of which the origin of industrial music floats with its
thousands of noisy prisms. All the opposite of the energetic music
Front 242! “Existence Oscillation (possible) Future” is the 3rd album
of a possible trilogy begun in 2016 with eXistence Oscilla+ion. The
title moreover sets the tone to the stylistic device of the music
where multiple oscillating lines forge a sound panorama which allows
to we l come a music of ambiences as well meditative as frisky and
where the ears are constantly on the alert. NBN tells to draw its
influences as far as in the textures of the ex-bass player of Can,
Holger Czukay, one of the pioneers of the samplings technique, and
Jean-Michel Jarre, while being very hooked on the Library Music of the
BBC and of Klaus Schulze's iodized atmospheres. It's mainly these
influences which extend over an album which gets more and more
attractive and more and more hard-hitting in the course of its discovery.
"NO wave Suite" brings us straight out in the particular universe of
NBN with muted beatings among which the organic vibrations and the
effects of echoes structure the clanic rhythm of a tribe isolated in a
universe of psychedelia. The percussions add to the heaviness while
reverberating lines roar like elephants who run in the plains of the
same universe. Pressed by the pulsating signals of a heavy bass, a
rhythm is testing marvelously your subwoofer whil e flooding your
listening room of dark and fascinating reverberating strands. That's
how goes the first moments of “Existence Oscillation (possible)
Future”. NBN squeezes the lemon by extirpating an avalanche of sounds
where hide layers of anesthetizing voices and very juicy arpeggios
which shiver in front of the power of the percussions and the
reverberating effects. Apparently exhausted, the introduction limits
its sound eruption by borrowing an ambient passage where the white
noises and other electronic effects crumble their tones in effects of
resounding lassoes which whistle such as if a giant is trying to
capture the void. Loaded of noises and of psychedelic voltage, the 3rd
part of the title emerges at around the 11th minute with a line of
bass pulsations less strong than the introduction and synth waves
which float with alternative movements. Jean-Michel Jarre's influences
can be heard here with these oscillating waves which waltz in a
contiguous way in symbiosis with the b a ss beatings and which also
attach the first melodic movement of this album. NBN uses all the
seconds to the meter of the CD in order to exploit well the limits of
4 the long titles which fill its storage capacity.
The introduction of "745 Sekunden" is like these twinkling reflections
of a crystal clear water which shine in the sun. The current brings
these sound prisms, which sparkle with a clear swiftness, towards a
line of bass sequences of which the oscillatory arcs skip restlessly
under spectral chants and a drizzle patch. The approach is almost
harmonious. Various lines and layers of multiple colors get grafted to
this waltz of fluids oscillations, as rhythmical as melodious. These 7
minutes of intensities and of boiling run madly into a phase of
atmospheric elements where live confined pulsations and scattered
beatings. The echo of these beatings plays moreover tricks on our
hearing. The first time, I thought that there was really somebody who
was walking in the house … I was alone! Sound hoops form throughout
these percussive elements, bringing "745 Sekunden" towards one finale
even more resounding than the wildest moments of this album. Set apart
the craziest ones of "Der Himmel über ..."
Daniel Bressanutti and Dirk Bergen admit too Kraftwerk and Tangerine
Dream as engines of inspirations and it's more than clear on the
monumental "Gott Der Go¨tter". Constructed no more and no less on the
same principle as the famous Autobhan from Kraftwerk, the 25 minutes
of this title borrow a minimalist bend with a rhythmic which runs and
oscillates in Motorik loops, allowing the duo to add splendid floating
layers very Jarre, a stream of electronic effects which make very Pink
Floyd and Klaus Schulze, noises which are in accordance with the kind
of tranquility of the music and riffs of synth which sculpt fragments
of a Düsseldorf School style melody. The synth riffs which pour like
some water through dozens of rocks and the subtleties in the flow of
se quences, rolling like crazy balls on a conveyor in the front of
this rhythm spread on some threadlike of oscillating loops, are giving
the sublimity to this long minimalist title which at no moment brushes
past a state of hypnosis. Wonderful and grandiose! Playing on the same
principle of dynamistic Motorik rhythm, "Der Himmel über ..." flirts
dangerously between the tolerable and its opposite. Armed of fat
sequences which resound by bouncing, the title moves forward with the
same stubbornness as in "Gott Der Go¨tter", but in another form. When
the riffs fall and that a voracious sound passion follows an avalanche
of percussions by a massive injection of jerky effects, the music
becomes less subtle and more aggressive. A little as a theme music of
horror which covers ungraceful scenes, the music follows its passions
and its madnesses, giving a more biting cachet to this emotive
accentuation which eats downright a music surfing on two waters until
its rather chthonian finale. I found that very intense but all the
same rather acceptable. But a thing remains for sure; my ears have
made the discovery of a magnificent album which demonstrates without
any doubts that EM shines of its thousand lights in the kingdom of Syndromeda.
Solid in all the aspects, and there is a lot, “Existence Oscillation
(possible) Future” is a crush and undoubtedly the most beautiful album
to ally the foundations of the old EM and the movement of the German
progressive rock of the years 60 and 70. Audacious and melodious,
hypnotic and attractive, this last opus of Nothing But Noise already
leads my list for the most beautiful album of 2018! Go for it and
treat your ears!
