Hi All

This coming week they will be released!

Paul Ellis over this album

For me this album explores both my life in an urban setting, the
bustling city and the time I spend hiking in the forests.
Here in the Pacific Northwest there are a lot of rain forests so I go
hiking for balance... to breathe in the fresh air and get away from
the neurosis of the city.
At the same time I have to admit that I love aspects of living in the
city... The energy and the progress, the ideas and resources....I seem
to need both, so the album is sort of an exploration between this
strange dichotomy.
Also noticing as I emerge from the forests where the pavement begins...

Next Step is an album inspired by the idea of colonizing planets and
moons in the Solar System. The dream of taking a next step into the
unknown, experiencing a new frontier land. Actually, this adventure
has already begun with the exciting step taken by space travel in the
60s. The big steps are still to come, with our children of today and
future generations. There are two future details that feel as if they
will be ground breaking. One being stationed on the moon, the other
our first trip to Mars. Thereafter, a great adventure continues and
will grow as long as we strive forward.

As an album, Next Step is part of my earlier space-influenced albums.
The previous album Cosmic Drama is the closest, but this passion for
the universe was already started with the album Far Away (2012).

Next step was created in studio TeamQuasar on Åland. Some of the
tracks are a bit older and others were created in the fall / winter
2019. The material for the album was originally 135 minutes of music
which eventually became 8 selected tracks with almost 80 minutes of
music. I hope this album provides a musically positive experience and
that my interpretation of a continuing human quest for space shines through.

An album that brings nature inside of music. A breat Berlin School labum.

New album Rene de Bakker - The uncertain path

After the successful Beyond Berlin album “totem” and Rene de Bakker
his 6th solo album “Our Gift” (his 1st Groove album) Rene ended up in
a new solo project. New equipment arrived in the studio and new
inspiration drove him to new music. You will recognize his
predilection for the early KS and TD era, but new synthesizers have
bridged the gap to a full-fledged 2020 sound. It became mainly
sequencer based music with smooth melody lines and daring sounds and
effects. Most tracks are based on the Berlin School style, but with a
very personal twist. It has become a product where only hardware
synths were used, such as analog synths and modular systems, but also
digital equipment. a must for those who want to dream away with a long
floating track, and want to be on the edge of their seat with some
rougher tracks.

Greetings Rene de Bakker

46628 Skoulaman - Deepminds

“Deepminds” offers a nice set of music consisting of four compositions
Hans van Kroonenburg published previously on YouTube as well as three
new pieces: “Polymood”, “Mytilini Intermission” and the title track.
The latter were created with (and inspired by) a couple of second hand
instruments Hans got his hands on such as the Meris’ Polymoon and
Behringer’s DeepMind 6 synth. Hans’s son Rik joins him on e-guitar on
“Mytilini Intermission”.

Well, I only need a few words about the music: moody, warm-blooded
Berlin School dressed with catchy sequences and gentle curling melodic
lines riding the cosmic EM-avenue. Of the seven tracks, I enjoyed
“Unpaved Roads”, “Polymood” and “Four is More” the most.
Any fan of Skoulaman’s captivating old-school electronics should grab
a copy of “Deepminds” I reckon.

 35906 Peru - Return

This is my first review on groove. Even on internet. I do not write
down what each song does to me. But i would recommend this cd to every
one. Nr 6 is even my ringtone now.
The only thing i want to say. This EM Cd is the best one i heard in
the last past YEARS. MY ROTEL installation is going to be mad. What a
sound and realy i like All the songs. But now this cd of peru Is One
of the best Cd s in my collection. Peru pleased me very very much. If
this was a cd of jmj all the papers would write a colum of hapiness.
This cd is hapiness. Thank you PERU.

Glisteningly mesmerizing, invigoratingly infinite, gossamery
ear-tickling and introspectively traversing Berlin School-driven
sequences persistently commingle with celestially expansive,
gracefully sublime and monochromatically engulfing, yet
awe-inspiringly transporting luminosities, while insistently
euphonious melodies with intangibly organic piquancies pervade across too...

"Five" album is 66 minutes long, the CDr edition comes as a 6-panel
digipak with additional 12-page insert, it's designed and
self-released by Laurent Schieber/Sequentia Legenda. It's out since
December 25th, 2019.

21709 Space Megalithe - Abstract Dimensions

French duo Space Megalithe, comprised of Jean-Claude Gil & Christophe
Barbier, debuted during November 2014 with their self-released "Psyché
Energy" CD. One year later they participated in Belgium
(Heusden-Zolder) on B-Wave festival's main stage with names such as
Robert Rich, Radio Massacre International and The Tower Free. A quite
good opportunity to reveal their talents. Btw, a nearly 70-minute long
recording from their performance is available in digital formats
through Space Megalithe's Bandcamp site. Although I have followed all
these significant events, it was Space Megalithe's second album
"Abstract Dimension", which has really triggered my interest in this
emerging project. So I can't forget to send kudos to kindred soul
Sonic-Hypnosis for his hint!!! "Abstract Dimension" was released
during January 2016, again as a glass mastered self release packaged
in a traditional jewel case with 4-panel front cover insert. Another
French sound s caper (and anthropologist) Boris Lelong is credited for
his participation on the album's art concept.

Nearly 10 minutes long title composition "Abstract Dimension" unfolds
this stellar odyssey with grandiosely expansive washes, perpetually
drifting and ebbing, and intriguingly illuminated by intangibly
gossamer clinks, lushly swirling fragments and enigmatically immersing
biotic undercurrents. A top-notch intro, messieurs!!! Then follows a
live, 11-minute version of "Psyché Energy", the title track from Space
Megalithe's debut album. Cybernetic shimmerings are soon permeated by
translucent sequences painting delicately elevated rhythms,
exquisitely polished and euphorically sharp, while soothing tides of
atmozones are persistently guarding above. Magnifique!!! So no wonder
I didn't even notice a seamless transition to "Crystal Landscape 1",
which inconspicuously moves into gorgeously nuanced panoramic vistas.
A warmly encircling sonic postcard! "Crystal Landscape 2" clandes
tinely sneaks in, but the center stage is soon stolen by gently
pulsing beats, meticulously bridging glistening cybernetic mesmerism
with fascinatingly yearning undulations. Awesome bundle, bravo,
Jean-Claude & Christophe!!! "Temple Of Andromeda" delves deeply into
ambiguously colored terrains, where perplexingly labyrinthine drones
precisely coalesce with variety of ear-tickling, industrial-infused
traceries, organic glimpses and eerie curtains. Abstract soundforging
at its finest!!! "Betelgueuse Station B" keeps at the beginning safely
on the bizarre path, but over the course the track slowly
metamorphoses into spectacularly immense spacefields, stunningly
panoptic, yet enthrallingly piquant. The closing 3 minutes are
masterfully magnified by crystalline sequencer meridians. A truly
phenomenal piece clocking to 11-minute mark and an exuberantly
creative pinnacle so far! Merci beaucoup!!! The next piece, "Waves",
with 6 and a half minutes the shortest one on "Abstract Dimension", g
lides through balmily poetic vastness, where profoundly evocative
meanders magnificently commingle with engrossingly ephemeral
stillness. A genuine tranquilizer! "Stone Alignment", a 12-plus
minutes long composition closes this amazing sonic voyage with
expanding tides coupled with transient field recordings, both balsamic
and spectral, unlocking the gates of jaw-droppingly monumental
horizons. These spellbinding layers are delightfully counterpointed
with evanescent trimmings of primordial artifacts, while remotely
mesmerizing (heart)beat surreptitiously percolates through. A very
strong finale indeed!

77-minute "Abstract Dimension" is a highly accomplished recording by
this gifted duo, fully revealing their ingenious insignias, when
sophisticatedly amalgamating North-American flavored atmospheric
soundscaping with unpredictable Berlin School ingredients. Space
Megalithe is a really big revelation from France, no question about
that!!! And not only "Abstract Dimension", bu t also their first album
"Psyché Energy" is highly recommended!!! And even if still newcomers,
deep respect to Jean-Claude & Christophe for not being afraid of
self-releasing their music on a glass mastered format. It's a quite
rare move these days. So keep on creating, guys, I certainly stay
tuned for all your future spatial installments! Once again, a big
round of applause to Space Megalithe!!!

69124 Corbacho, Max - Nocturnes

If I recall correctly, the title "Nocturnes" has been resonating in
the connection with Max Corbacho for few years already. For the first
time announced by Hypnos, roughly about 3 years ago, unfortunately it
was in the period of time when Mike and Lena were slowly evanescing
from their publishing activities (yet Hypnos is still alive as a
mail-order and forum). Secondly, I have encountered "Nocturnes" back
in the summer of 2016, when hanging in Max Corbacho's studio in
Barbera del Valles, near Barcelona. Lots of great memories revive...
along with fruitful discussions held with Max about the long-deserved
release of this recording. And now finally the dreams came true,
"Nocturnes" CD is here!!! Out on Max Corbacho's newly created label
Silentsun since May 19th, 2017, the album comes in a catchy matte
4-panel digipak graced by immersing nocturnal photographs taken by the
artist himself in Aragon, a northeastern region of Spain, these
photogra p hy sessions also remain as the biggest inspiration for
"Nocturnes". Additional credits are given to visual master Michael
Rodriguez Pletz, who has already collaborated with Max Corbacho on
"Splendid Labyrinths" and "Future Terrain" artworks. The mastering
credit goes to Ian Hawgood, his name can be found also on "Future Terrain".

The journey is ignited with quietly expanding "Dark Sky Opening", a
title precisely reflecting its name as well as awe-inspiring
immenseness of arid landscapes of Aragon. Max Corbacho's
multidimensional expansive gracefulness sweeps across effortlessly
like refreshing nightly breeze. Inconspicuous climaxes with
ear-tickling glimpses persistently percolate throughout the
grandiosely panoramic magnitudes, known as a purely quintessential
sonic insignias of this Spanish Maestro. Yeah, this nearly 53 minutes
long epic composition proficiently displays the soundcarving magic of
Max Corbacho, where phenomenally engrossing spatial vastness is
meticulously reinforced by infinitely billowing and warmly tenebrous
meridians. Max gives the max again, these utterly powerful quietudes
will always be my sonic medicine!!! A jewel like "Nocturnes" was worth
the long wait!!! The next piece, "Stellar Time", reaching almost
12-minute mark, straightly dives into gargantuan depths, where
celestially infused drones exquisitely amalgamate with magmatic
humming monoliths, titillating dissonant perplexes and balmily nuanced
undercurrents. A truly mind-blowing odyssey transporting the listener
into jaw-droppingly unfathomable nothingness, where monstrous serenity
with disastrous reverberations are tenaciously engulfing. This track
undoubtedly showcases Max Corbacho at the very top of his most intense
abysscaping!!! So it's quite obvious "Ghost Of The Moon" clandestinely
enters this scenario and glides on the wings of diminuendoing
thickness, with less density, yet more resonating sharpness with
oscillating vertexes, bridged with hidden, but glimmering l y emerging
yearning sceneries, before surreptitiously transmuting into tranquilly
vanishing horizons.

74-minute "Nocturnes" album again reinstalls Max Corbacho to the
foreground of atmospheric soundscaping, his signature sonic
meditations belong to the most colossally expansive and breathtakingly
immersing listening experiences. This Spaniard is a stalwart
soundforger par excellence, certainly don't miss his stellar
discography filled with many other gems like "The Ocean Inside", "Ars
Lucis", "The Talisman", "Splendid Labyrinths", "Nocturnal
Emanations"... The flame is still burning brightly and as far I know,
few more chapters of "Nocturnes" are in the stove, so stay tuned for
more!!! Bravo, Max!!!
