Dear EM fans!! With a sorrow heart I am writing this E-News. Klaus Schulze who still is and always will be one of the biggest influnences in my music passed away this week. Since 1976 when at the age of 13 I first heard his music (the album Blackdance) I have been mesmerised by the art that he made. Yes art!! What he created is beyond music, Toghether with Edgar Froese, Mike Oldfield and Vangelis he formed my music into what it is today. And when I look back it is his music that I tributed the most time during concerts and releases. I can not say that I knew him like I had Edgar Froese. And for years I had the dream to get him to play at an E-Live event that never materialized. But I had 2 great talks with him, once when I got the chance to buy his Memory Moog. That day Kees Aerts and I collected it in his studio, It will always be rememberd by me. But the meet up with him after a concert he did in the UK where afterwards Joerg Strawe and me sat with him in the hotel bar and had a fantastic night talk was unique. It was early in the morming that we left him and drove back home to mainland Europe. Those 2 meetings will always stay in my thoughts. Klaus has gone now to the stars and that sucks!! And that while we are all waiting on the latest release he created for the Epos "Dune" but in the meantime I am playing "X", "Live", "Moondawn", "Mirage", "Body love", "Blackdance" and all the other great albums over and over again. With a heavy heart, with a sad feeling but also with love and a great sense of joy that I got to know, expierience and live in the time that this Maestro created this Art! He will live on in my thoughts and feelings until I am gone. Klaus I love you and your music!. Ron Boots |
